The town of Putbus is located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen. The city with around 4,500 inhabitants was founded in 1810 and has been a state-recognized resort since 1997. Putbus is the youngest town on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen.
